TOUR ITINERARY

Visit this 550 year old medieval Donegal Castle on a guided walking tour. Strategically situated near the heart of Donegal town, this castle was home to one of Ireland’s most powerful families. As we visualise the surroundings we will hear of the fortunes and unfortunes of Red Hugh O’Donnell – one of Ireland’s last Gaelic chieftains.

Situated aloft on the banks of the river Eske and against the backdrop of Donegal Bay are the ruins of a 15th century once magnificent Franciscan Abbey. With it’s gothic arches, ornate carvings and weathered stone we contemplate the centuries of history that this site has witnessed. On this guided walking tour we learn of ancient religious customs, myths, legends and it’s secrets.

Free shopping time in Donegal Town to purchase that beautiful hat that you always wanted! Here you will be given the opportunity to further deplete that credit card in what is Ireland’s holy grail of authentic hand woven tweed and woollen garments! However, be quick – the allowed time here will be approximately 50mins as we have other places to see..

Capture the awesome views of these majestic sea cliffs, which are amongst Europe’s highest. Rising over 600m from the ocean, they are over three times the height of the Cliffs of Moher. Once a place of religious pilgrimage, it is now a sightseers heaven on earth – however a prayer can sometimes be useful for optimal weather conditions!

A map of Ireland highlighting County Donegal, with a magnified view of Killybegs in the south-west—perfect for planning a Killybegs shore excursion—marked by gold lines, a magnifying glass, and an arrow pointing to the town.
